Job summary

Adventist Health Simi Valley is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide personal nursing care under the supervision of an RN. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, and communicate any concerns to the licensed staff.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent preferred; Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities of daily living assistance (nutrition, hydration, bathing, dressing, feeding).
• Takes vital signs (pulse, BP) and reports patient status to RN.
• Performs routine tasks and communicates patient concerns to the RN.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Provides personal nursing care to the patient under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living including self-care needs. Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Phlebotomy Certification: Preferred
• Audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Department Specific License/Certifications

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A: Required

Essential Functions

• Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints and restorative care.
• Takes vital signs including, pulse and blood pressure.
• Helps patients with their basic needs, i.e., bathing, dressing and feeding.
• Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
