Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Nurse Assistant for a full-time night shift. You will provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, focusing on hygiene, nutrition, and activities of daily living.

A geriatric aide certification and active/ineligible Iowa Nurse Aide registry are required or you may be enrolled in an ADN/BSN program with relevant nursing coursework. Experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Nurse aide certification required or active registry status.
• Enrollment in ADN/BSN program with first semester completed or nursing diploma/BSN/LPN acceptable.

JOB SUMMARY

The nurse assistant provides patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse. This care focuses on personal hygiene, nutritional needs and activities of daily living.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Completion of geriatric aid certification and State of Iowa Nurse Aide registry listing as “Active” or eligible.

OR

Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.

Experience

Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

Special Skills and Competencies

Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs. Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
