Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group – North Iowa is seeking a Nurse Assistant to provide essential patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, focusing on personal hygiene, nutrition, and activities of daily living.

The role requires geriatric aid certification or active Iowa Nurse Aide registry, with options for ADN/BSN program enrollment; nursing assistant experience is preferred. Day shifts are 12 hours, with complex weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Completion of geriatric aid certification and Iowa Nurse Aide registry active or eligible.
• Currently enrolled in ADN/BSN program or completed first semester of ADN; BSN year completed; or graduate of ADN/ Diploma/ BSN or LPN program.
• Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask and meet department needs; self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse, focusing on hygiene, nutrition, and activities of daily living.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to department needs.
• Support shift coverage (12-hour days) and weekend/holiday rotation when required.

JOB SUMMARY

The nurse assistant provides patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse. This care focuses on personal hygiene, nutritional needs and activities of daily living.

Hours:

Full Time - Days. 0700-1930… every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Completion of geriatric aid certification and State of Iowa Nurse Aide registry listing as “Active” or eligible.

OR

Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.

Experience:

Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

Special Skills and Competencies: Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs. Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
