Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our 35-bed Med/Surgical unit. This part-time role (0.6 FTE) rotates between day and night shifts, with weekend and holiday rotation. Compensation starts at $21.04 per hour, with a 24-hour work week and benefits eligibility.

Under close RN supervision, you will perform basic CNA procedures, maintain patient safety and dignity, and complete tasks within your shift. Orientation is required during the first week.

Qualifications

• State of Wisconsin certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Currently CPR certified or eligible for certification.
• Must be available the first week of employment for CNA orientation (8AM - 4:30PM).

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing assistant procedures as taught in training and certification programs.
• Practice medical asepsis and respect patient dignity and privacy.
• Work under the close supervision of the Registered Nurse and complete assigned tasks within the shift.

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) practices and performs the basic nursing assistant procedures which were taught during their outside training and certification program. The CNA is expected to practice medical asepsis, respect the dignity and privacy of every patient, maintain objectivity during patient care, adhere to basic hospital safety policies and procedures, and practice within their scope of training. The CNA works under the close supervision of the Registered Nurse. The CNA receives specific work assignments that are both written and oral with the expectation to complete the work assignment within their scheduled shift.

Our Med/Surgical unit is excellent opportunity to work as a team to provide the best care for our patients that can include, but not limited to general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ENT and plastics as well as general medical patients.
