Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, invites applications for a Nursing Assistant. This full-time role supports physicians and provides compassionate care across a range of medical conditions on a 12-hour day shift.

You will assist patients with daily living activities, collect data, transport patients, and help with specimens, linens, and delivery of ice and beverages. A high school diploma and BLS are required, with prior acute care experience preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed.
• Proof with college transcript or significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Position Purpose

At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check

Pay Range: $18.05 - $25.60 per hour

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
