Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT seeks a part-time Nursing Assistant to support physicians and provide compassionate patient care during the night shift. The role includes data collection, daily living assistance, and patient transport within a hospital setting.

You will perform specimen collection, distribute supplies, and help monitor patient safety, while adhering to safety protocols and delivering high-quality care in collaboration with the Trinity Health Of New England system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or in progress of nursing/health sciences BA.
• BLS certification is required.
• Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process; college transcript may be required for verification.

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, diet, fluids, skin care, bathing, dressing).
• Provide patient transport.

Description:

At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check

Pay Range: $18.05 - $25.60 per hour

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
