Job summary

Essentia Health Duluth – Miller Dwan Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant for the Med/Surg Unit. You will assist with hygiene, nutrition, comfort care, safe patient transfers, vital signs, and accurate record‑keeping to support nursing staff.

Qualifications include 6 months of CNA experience, one semester of clinical rotations, enrollment in the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire, completion of a recognized nurse aide training

Qualifications

• Enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30days of hire.
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program.
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.

Job description

Position Overview

Compassionate Nursing Assistant on the Med/Surg Unit at Essentia Health Duluth – Miller Dwan Medical Center (Building D, EH Duluth).

Schedule

• 24 hours every two weeks
• Every other weekend
• Rotating 8‑hour shifts: Day 6:00am–2:30pm, Evening 2:00pm–10:30pm, Night 10:00pm–6:30am

Education and Qualifications

• 6 months of nursing assistant experience
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
• Enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30days of hire
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

Duties

Licensure and Certification

• BLS certified or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date
• If qualified through the Essentia Health Foundation Course East Market (excluding WI): completion of the course within 90 days of hire

Compensation

$17.83 – $23.55 per hour (FTE: 0.3). Shift start times: 6am, 2pm, 10pm. Shift end times: 2:30pm, 10:30pm, 6:30am. Weekends and holidays are included. Call obligation: none. Union: Miller Dwan UFCW (MDUFC).
