Job summary

Tenet Healthcare North Central Baptist Hospitals seeks a patient care support role to provide essential assistance and comfort to patients. Under RN supervision, you will deliver basic nursing care across units, supporting compassionate care and ensuring patients have a positive healthcare experience.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to required trainings (BLS, crisis intervention) with a strong focus on patient comfort and education.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Preferred: Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.
• Preferred experience: 6 months in healthcare or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.
• Required courses/completions: BLS and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care for a defined group of patients under the supervision of an RN.
• Care for patients across units described (General Nursing Units, Special Care Areas, Maternal Child Units, Nursery, Pediatric, GI Lab, Chemical Dependent/Psychiatric, Emergency, Surgical Services).
• Be the heart of compassionate care and support patients to ensure the best experience.

Job description

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients

General Nursing Units cares for patients from age 15 years to maturity by clinically competent nursing staff.

Special Care Areas cares for patients from age 15 years through adult with high risk conditions by clinically competent nursing staff.

Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery care includes patients who have a pregnancy related condition by staff who are clinically competent in maternity care.

Nursery care includes care for newborn until discharge status by clinically competent staff.

Pediatric clinically competent staff provides care to patients from neonate through age of eighteen.

GI Lab Unit cares for toddlers, beginning age 24 months, through adult by clinically competent staff.

Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit cares for adult patients and family with holistic approach to emotional problems by clinically competent nursing staff. Emergency Unit provides care to presenting patients of all ages by clinically competent staff in pediatric and high- risk adult care.

Surgical Services provides care to patients from neonate to geriatric. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

MINMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures

REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position
