Job summary

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough, MA is seeking caring CNAs to join a team that helps medically complex patients improve over 2–3 weeks. The role focuses on compassionate patient care and supports a stable unit rhythm. Duties include bathing, feeding, mobility, vital signs, and reporting to licensed nurses.

New and experienced CNAs are welcome. In-person shifts include day, evening, and overnight options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certificate required.
• Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with bathing, grooming, dressing and undressing.
• Prepares patients for meals and assists/feeds as needed.
• Distributes water and nourishments; assists in ambulation and transfers.
• Performs basic nursing tasks delegated by the licensed nurse; records data.
• Performs glucose monitoring, bladder scanning, specimen collection and hygiene.

Part time, 24 hours, 11:00p - 7:30a, including every other weekend

Part time 24 hours 3:00p - 11:30p, including every other weekend

PER DIEM - ALL SHIFTS

$2000 sign on bonus full time and $1000 sign on bonus part time (24 hours or more)

Generous shift differentials:
$1.00 - $4.00

NEW Competitive Pay Rate:
$20.25 - $29.15

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital is a small community hospital that does big things to help people. Our two hospital units specialize in caring for medically complex patients with a similar acuity to a medical surgical or telemetry unit. With our population typically staying for 2-3 weeks, caregivers see the same patients make progress over time.

We are currently seeking caring energetic and invested CNA staff

New and experiences CNA's are welcome to apply.

DUTIES

1. Assists patients with bathing, grooming, dressing and undressing.
2. Prepares patients for meals, assists/feeds patients as needed.
3. Distributes water and other nourishments to patients.
4. Positions and transfers patients.
5. Assists in ambulation.
6. Assists in toileting needs; use of bedpan, urinal, commode and ostomy care.
7. Performs range of motion exercises.
8. Routine skin care.

2. Performs tasks/tests delegated by the licensed nurse and reports/records data as needed.

a) Takes and records vital signs; temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration.

1. Measures and records intake and output.
2. Weighs patients with the appropriate scale as directed by the licensed nurse.
3. Applies anti-embolic stockings.
4. Assists with post-mortem care.

3. Performs advanced skills delegated by the licensed nurse as deemed competent, reports/ records data as needed.

1. Performs fingerstick blood glucose monitoring.
2. Performs bladder scanning.
3. Collects specimens (urine, stool).
4. Sets up suction equipment.
5. Performs oral care and hygiene including yankauer suctioning.

H. PREREQUISITES:

• 1) High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 2) Previous hospital experience in geriatric/adolescent and rehabilitation or per recommendation by Director of Nursing.
• 3) Certified Nursing Assistant certificate required.
• 4) Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
• 5) Certificate in BLS or Adult, Child and Infant
