Description of Duties

This is a trainee position at Monroe Community Hospital. Trainees participate in a short-term training program to learn the skills necessary to become a certified Nursing Assistant. The program includes classroom learning and clinical practice. Upon successful completion and testing, trainees may work under supervision for an additional 2-3 weeks pending certification. Promotion to certified Nursing Assistant occurs after passing the training and receiving New York State certification. Employees who do not complete the training and certification within four months will be removed from the position. The employee reports to clinical and nursing staff and performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.

Note: Currently recruiting for the September and November Nurse Aide Trainee Program cohorts. Attendance during all course hours (lecture, lab, clinical) is mandatory and attendance policy is strict.
