Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS, is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Technician to assist in patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse. You will accurately take vital signs and document them in the EMR, perform duties per policy, and participate in performance improvement activities.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent; BLS CPR; CNA/CPCT/A/EMT preferred. Prior PCT experience preferred. Role emphasizes safety, PPE use, and adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• HS grad or equivalent is required.
• 1+ year PCT experience preferred.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• CNA/CPCT/A/EMT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately take vital signs and document in the EMR.
• Perform duties and patient care per policy and procedure.
• Act within scope during clinical emergencies and support quality initiatives.

Job Description:

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred]
