Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a dedicated patient care technician to join our Shawnee Mission facility. You will assist in patient care under supervision, accurately record vital signs, and document in the electronic medical record while following safety protocols.

Required high school diploma and BLS; CNA/CPCT/A/EMT preferred. This full-time day-shift role is located in Shawnee, Kansas, and supports AdventHealth’s mission of compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv (Required).
• 1+ applicable PCT experience (Preferred).
• BLS CPR required; CNA/CPCT/A/EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Accurately perform vital signs and document in EMR.
• Document procedures accurately per department policy.
• Perform duties per policy and procedures.
• Respond in clinical emergencies and support quality initiatives.

Job Description:

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]
