Nursing Assistant, Certified, Long Term Care (LTC) - FT Day

Work Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts (United States of America)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Salary Range: $17.00 - $25.50 + $3,000 Sign on Bonus

Union Position: No

Department Details: This is a full-time position. Shift: 10am to 6:30pm

Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents as per care plan. Follows infection prevention and control policies, including PPE use.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with basic healthcare needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, and psychosocial support.
  • Help residents transfer, reposition, walk, and perform range of motion exercises.
  • Support food preparation, dining, and assist with meals and snacks.
  • Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed.
  • Document resident interactions and communicate changes to charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive specimens and vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas.
  • Support wellness and recreational activities, encouraging resident participation.
  • Participate in departmental or organizational committees as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required; must obtain within four months if not already certified.
  • Complete annual competency testing and maintain continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours/year).
  • Maintain department-specific certifications; may include state registry registration.
  • Depending on responsibilities, may require a valid driver’s license and medical qualification for driving duties.
