Prisma Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the Cardiac Telemetry unit at Laurens County Hospital. You will assist with activities of daily living, perform basic nursing tasks under RN supervision, and help maintain patient comfort and safety on a night shift.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Provide basic nursing tasks under RN supervision (e.g., vitals, dressings).
• Collect vital signs, intake/output, and basic specimens as delegated.
• Document observations in the medical record and communicate changes to RN.
• Provide comfort measures and non-pharmacological pain management.
• Answer call lights, run errands, and assist with patient transport as needed.

Job Summary

Assists in providing patient care based on the individualized plan of care for a patient. As delegated, performs basic nursing activities. Conducts data collection, monitors and documents patient status. Ensures confidentiality of all patient information. Utilizes safe patient handling at all times. Informs RN of activities performed observations of patients and changes in patient status. Provides a neat and clean patient environment.

Essential Functions

• Assists patients with activities of daily living. Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. May transport patients and assist with walking. Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated.
• Provides patient care as delegated by the RN including, but not limited to, non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, perineal care.
• Performs data collection including vital signs, fluid intake and outtake and basic and sterile specimen collection. Properly documents and maintains data on medical record and informs RN of activities performed, observations of patients and changes in patient status.
• Runs errands, answers telephone, answers and responds to call lights.
• Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN.
• Provides and documents comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

• Education - Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
• Experience - No experience required.

In Lieu Of

In lieu of school verification of a nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former state CN A certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
