General Summary: - Administering direct and indirect nursing care to the patients assigned under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), according to hospital policy.
- Actively support and participatein the activities of the unit.
- Specific duties shall be assigned according to department and the care delivery system of the unit.
- Assist, under direction of the RN, in providing basic patient care duties including, but not limited to, taking vital signs, patient hygiene activities, feeding and bathing of patients, and post-mortem care.Perform activities of daily living appropriate tothe patient’s condition. Administer, under direction of the RN, basic treatments to patient including, but not limited to, preparing special procedure set-up, I & O measurement, collection of urine and stools, application of cold/heat packs. Perform Glucose monitoring.
- Provide unit support by responding to call lights within 2-5 minutes, passing water and linens, locatingequipment, stocking supplies, cleaning and other non-clinical duties assigned by the RN.
- Assistin the transportation of patients. Assistsin transporting specimens to the lab and collection of blood and blood products from Blood Bank. Obtains and delivers pharmacy orders as needed.
- Adhere to safety and infection control precautions.
- Maintain current BLS certification, mandatory continuing educationand mandatory competencies.
- Demonstrate and actively promote an understanding and commitment to the mission of Henry Ford through performing behaviors consistent with the Standards of Performance and Code of Ethics.
- Promote a positive work environment as evidencedby quality service and positive staff attitudes.
- The Nursing Assistant shall have access to and disclosepersonal health information only when reasonably necessaryto perform the designated job-related responsibilities.

- Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
- Additionalduties may include non-clinical duties consistent with meeting the needs of the patient care team and unit operations.
- This position requires the ability to identifyage related differences within the persons served and the adjustment of treatment style and expectations as appropriate, including adjustments based on the person’s served cognitive function and learning ability. This will include taking into account their religious and cultural needs and preferences.
Schedule: 7pm-7:30a, Part Time/Nights, 24 hrs. Every 3rd weekend.
