Department Details

Come join our team at Canton-Inwood Medical Center. Our Critical Access Medical Center is made up of 11 beds and is supported by five providers. As a Nursing Assistant, you will use a wide range of skills and interact with patients of all ages. This facility offers the opportunity to make a difference in the community and strengthen your clinical skills.

Schedule consists of 12-hour rotating shifts: 6:30AM - 7:00PM and 6:30PM - 7:00AM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to patients during scheduled work hours. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with basic healthcare needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation, and emotional and spiritual support.
  • Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
  • Record vital signs and other health information.
  • Collect non-invasive biological specimens as needed.
  • Perform clerical tasks related to scheduling and documentation.
  • Prepare treatment areas, clean medical equipment, and dispose of biomedical waste according to standards.
  • Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
  • Provide one-on-one care when necessary for patient safety.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred. If not certified, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry within four months of employment or upon completion of training/competency validation.
