The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the New Mexico VA Health Care System.

You will support the 3A Surgical Acute Care Service, providing direct patient care, monitoring glucose readings, and documenting care and observations for veterans with acute to chronic conditions. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, promoting patient independence, and participating in treatment planning meetings.

Formación

• Education/degree recognized by U.S. Department of Education can qualify for federal employment.
• Foreign education must be accompanied by a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency.
• Applications via Fed Internal Search path only.

Responsabilidades

• Utilizes glucose monitoring to obtain readings and reports deviations.
• Provides direct care for veterans with acute to chronic conditions.
• Observes changes in resident condition and acts within NA scope.
• Documents care, observations, and responses on appropriate forms.
• Performs nursing procedures within scope of practice per policy and procedures.
• Participates in treatment planning and patient care activities.
• Promotes independence and self-care with veterans through respectful care.
