Job summary

WellSpan Health’s Acute Care unit, a 28-bed Medical-Surgical team, is seeking a PRN patient support technician. You will provide clinical assistance to patient care staff, take vital signs, and help patients with activities of daily living in a fast-paced, diverse unit.

You will also inventory and replenish supplies and equipment, and perform EKGs and point-of-care testing to support timely care throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience.
• BLS certification required; CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

Department Summary

Acute Care is a 28-bed Medical Surgical unit providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses. Our team cares for patients with varying levels of acuity, making us a versatile, fast-paced unit where every day brings something new.

General Summary

Provides clinical support services to patient care staff by performing a variety of duties related to patient care. Takes patient vital signs, assists patients with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.), inventories and replenishes supplies and equipment, and performs special assigned duties such as performing EKGs and Point-of-Care testing.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• - High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

• - Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

• - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• - Certified Nurse Aide Upon Hire Preferred
