Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking an Operating Room Nursing Assistant to support patient care within the OR team at our Philadelphia location. The role includes asepsis practices, room setup, patient transport and routine turnover, aligned with hospital values.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and BLS certification; rotating shifts Thursdays through Sundays 11:15 PM–7:15 AM in Philadelphia, PA. Join a multidisciplinary department delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience or ability to perform OR nursing assistant duties is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow asepsis, infection control and safety procedures.
• Perform OR nursing assistant duties: room setup, patient transport, equipment retrieval, turnover.
• Perform between-case cleanup in ORs: surface and floor cleaning, tables, etc.
• Interact professionally with co-workers, patients and staff in line with hospital values.

Primary Responsibility

An individual who performs various patient care activities based on age and functional status, and related non-professional services in the Operating Rooms.

Essential Functions

• Follows approved/established techniques and procedures related to asepsis, infection control and safety.


• Performs all duties and tasks of an Operating Room Nursing Assistant, including room setup, transportation of patients, equipment retrieval, and room turnover.


• Performs between-case clean up in assigned OR’s, including surface cleaning, floor cleaning, tables, etc.


• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
