Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking staff for the 7 North West unit at Royal Oak Hospital. The role involves patient care under RN supervision, with night shifts and a 12-hour schedule, and observers for selected patients.

Located in Royal Oak, this position supports bariatric, urology, colorectal and other surgeries, along with digestive and abdominal medical cases. A CNA with BLS is preferred for this important hospital unit.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient requiring constant observation, in person or via remote video monitoring.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Corewell Health is offering up to $1500 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About the unit 7 North West is a 33-bed unit that specializes in bariatric surgery, as well as urological and colorectal surgeries. We also care for patients following reconstructive plastic surgery and many other general surgeries. Additionally, we also take care of medical patients, particularly those with digestive and abdominal disorders. We always strive to provide the highest quality of care in a patient and family-centered atmosphere. Along with our sister unit 7 NE, we are designated as the Bariatric units at Royal Oak Beaumont and recognized with Bariatric Accreditation by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).
