About the Unit

6 South is a 32-bed surgical unit focusing on post-operative care for abdominal surgery patients. The unit promotes teamwork, a friendly atmosphere, and collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including case management, PT/OT, dieticians, and social work. It offers open communication, professional autonomy, a multicultural environment, certified preceptors, and a diverse patient population to enhance nursing skills. The unit has 8 telemetry beds for post-surgery cardiac monitoring.

Scope of Work

Assist licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and maintaining the nursing environment under RN supervision. Provide personal care and safety for patients promptly, following the patient plan of care. Maintain an organized unit environment with adequate supplies and facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers according to policies.

Pay Range

Starting at $15.13/hour

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• AHA or ARC BLS certification
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience (preferred)
• Current CNA certification (preferred)

Shift: Night, 11:30 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.

Hours: 40/week, variable days, every other weekend
