About This Unit

5 North is a 38-bed unit caring for a variety of medical, surgical, and chronically ill patients. The unit specializes in diabetes management (insulin drips) and renal failure (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis). It can accommodate patients requiring telemetry and oximetry. The nurse-to-patient ratio varies based on acuity. Our nurses partner with universities to support student nurses through precepting, support, and role modeling. Our goal is to provide high-quality, efficient, effective, and compassionate healthcare while welcoming families.

Scope of Work

• Provides patient care according to the care plan, unit routine, and hospital policy under RN supervision.
• Safely transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatches services, and documents services appropriately.
• Acts as an Observer for patients requiring constant observation, either in person or via remote monitoring, to ensure safety.
• Performs clerical duties to facilitate unit functioning.
• Documents care in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

Additional Information

• Employment type: Full-time, Night shift, 36 hours/week, 7:00 pm - 7:30 am, including every other weekend.
