Job summary

Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work closely with the nurse and provide excellent direct patient care. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient status, and help ensure a safe, compassionate environment on the unit.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent; BLS is provided if needed and NYS CNA certification is preferred. This onsite role features night shifts and a competitive wage range with benefits.

• Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.

This person supports activities of daily living (ADL's) with patients and prevents complications.Roles and Responsibilities:Direct Patient Care - Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings or changes in the patient's conditions to the RN.Reinforcing education with patients; i.e. incentive spirometer use, and fall prevention.Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.Required Skills and Experience:High school or equivalent experienceBLS - will be provided if neededPreferred Skills and Experience:NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA)Previous patient care experiencePhysical Requirements:Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs.
