Corewell Health's Farmington Hills Hospital unit is a 31-bed Med Surg/Oncology area. The RN-directed care includes chemotherapy short stays, transfusions, and telemetry-ready patients on a busy 3N unit. Day shifts run 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m. with 36 weekly hours and every-other weekend.

The role involves direct patient care, safe transport, and documentation within the EMR, plus observer duties when required. A CNA and BLS are preferred, with strong communication and teamwork values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support required.
• Current CNA certification preferred.
• Effective communication and accurate documentation.
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Demonstrate Corewell customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care per the plan of care and hospital policy under RN direction.
• Safely transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Provide Observer services for constant observation as needed.
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Document care provided in the electronic medical record.

Corewell Health is offering up to $1,500 for Full Time and $750 for Part Time as a sign on bonus for this opportunity!

About this unit

This 31-bed unit is dedicated to Oncology and Med-Surg overflow. This unit schedules daily short stays for chemotherapy treatment, blood transfusions, bone marrowbiopsies,and cardiac catheterization.It also specializesinsurgical patients with epidurals and can accommodate telemetry patients. The nurse patient ratio is based on acuity, census, and activity. This unit also covers the 8-bed infusioncenter,which is also included on the 3rd floor.

Scope of work

Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications
