About This Job

The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Home is to primarily serve the Veterans’ population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.
This position is located in the Nursing Department of the SW Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings, Louisiana.
Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
Function Of Work: To perform routine sub professional nursing duties in the care and comfort of patients.
Level Of Work: Experienced.
Supervision Received: General from a Registered Nurse, Practical Nurse--Licensed, Nursing Assistant 2, or other higher level personnel.
Supervision Exercised: None.
Location of Work: May be used by all state agencies.
This PRN/PT/WAE appointment pays $14.50 hourly (base pay) for a Nursing Assistant 1 plus $3.00 per hour physically worked. WAE appointments are not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period. Shift differentials also apply (see below):
