Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking part-time Nursing Assistants (PCAs) to provide direct patient care on Medical/Surgical units at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT. The role includes vital signs, ambulatory support, and patient assistance across days and nights on 12-hour shifts.

Shifts are rotating; weekends and holidays required. Certification in BLS/CPR is preferred, with HS diploma or GED required. CNA certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS or CPR certification required.
• 1 year nursing assistant experience in an acute inpatient setting preferred.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.

• Provide ambulatory support to patients, assisting with walking, showers, and other prescribed therapies.

Description:

PCAs serve in the role of Nursing Assistants, providing direct patient care support on the units.

What will you do:

• Regularly assist with patient care, including vital sign monitoring and recording measurements in patients’ charts


• Provide Ambulatory Support to patients, assisting with walking, showers, and other prescribed therapies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School or equivalency certificate is required.


• BLS or CPR Certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.


• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Nursing Assistant experience in an Acute In-Patient setting is preferred.


• Certified Nursing Assistant: Certification is preferred but not required.

Position Highlights and Benefits:

Part-Time positions ONLY.

• Positions are 12-hour shifts


• Day Shift 7 am to 7:30 pm


• Night Shift 7 pm to 7:30 am


• Rotating weekends and holidays is required.

Pay Range: $18.05 per hour - $25.60 per hour

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
