Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to deliver direct patient care for a diverse patient population with various medical and surgical conditions. Duties include assisting with daily living activities, ambulation, turning patients, and documenting care under supervision of a licensed nurse.

One year of Nursing Assistant experience or CNA program completion is preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work under stress are essential.

Qualifications

• High school level knowledge; CNA preferred or graduate of Nursing Assistant program.
• Ability to document care in medical records accurately.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with ambulation, turning, and promoting comfort.

This individual provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other patient care team members including the patient and family, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. All care is provided under the direction and supervision of a registered or licensed nurse. The Nursing Assistant assists with activities of daily living and delegated patient care treatments and procedures. Is responsible to assist with ambulation of patients, turning patients and promoting comfort.* Previous experience or graduated from a Nursing Assistant program preferred.* Ability to document on medical records and patient care forms and understand printed health related material.* One year or more experience as a Nurse Assistant preferable.* Computer experience preferred.
