Job summary

US Military Treatment Facilities under DHA is seeking qualified nurses to provide direct patient care in a Naval Medical Center, San Diego unit. The role involves maintaining electronic health records, obtaining vital signs, and coordinating care within the 5 West Medical Surgical Unit.

Applicants must meet education requirements (bachelor’s in nursing or related field) or an equivalent combination, with one year of specialized experience. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation for US Citizens.

About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA - Directorate of Nursing, Adult Inpatient Medical Surgical Department , 5 West Medical Surgical Unit Surgical IP Ward Department.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, providing direct care to patients, maintaining patient health information in an electronic medical records system, and obtaining vital signs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelors degree in a related field of study such as nursing or medical. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
