Job summary

Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City seeks a compassionate CNA/Medical Assistant to support nursing teams in delivering patient-centered care. You will assist with ADLs, monitor patients, and help maintain a safe, healing environment under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, completed CNA/MA program, and BLS certification; 6 months to 1 year of acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CNA or Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current BLS certification; EKG skills beneficial within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs, including meals, bathing, and hygiene.
• Interact with patients, families, physicians and staff in a respectful, supportive manner.
• Participate in administering patient care under RN supervision to ensure safety and comfort.
• Perform tasks related to both routine and urgent patient care needs as directed by nursing staff.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of patient care duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Actively participates in administering patient care and ensures a safe and comforting environment. Must be able to interact with patients, families, physicians and all levels of staffing an effective manner.

Essential Functions:

• Actively participates in administering patient care and ensures a safe and comforting environment
• Responds to patients’ needs in a timely manner
• Assists patients with ADL’s, including meals, bathing, and hygiene needs
• Demonstrates ability to perform 12 lead EKG.

Qualifications

Education: High School graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred. Completion of CNA Program, Medical Assistant Program, PCA or similar program preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current BLS certification required. Basic EKG skills required within six months of employment.

Experience: Six (6) months to one (1) year of continuous experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred.
