Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Part-Time Nursing Assistant for the 3 North Surgical Unit (36-bed) to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assisting with hygiene, mobility, feeding, positioning, and basic procedures.

You will document vital signs, intake/output, admissions and transfers, maintain supplies, ensure a safe environment, and respond to patient needs with compassionate, respectful care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation.
• Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.
• Obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other patient data.
• Performs delegated clinical procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
• Assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
• Performs clerical and unit coordination duties, including patient charts and physician orders.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment.
• Responds to patient needs and emergency situations while providing compassionate, respectful care.

Nursing Assistant Part-Time, 3rd Shift 3 North Surgical 3 North Surgical Unit is a 36-bed medical-surgical unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses. We offer compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of recovery. Our team specializes in post-operative management, medical stabilization, and ongoing treatment of acute and chronic conditions. 3 North Surgical is committed to delivering high-quality, coordinated care that supports safe healing, patient education, and optimal outcomes for every individual we serve. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

Job Description

• Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
