Paris Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the Orthopedics team in a 3x12 days schedule. The role involves assisting with patient care, ADLs, feeding, and documentation under licensed staff, with emphasis on safety, infection control, and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires critical thinking and decisive judgment; ability to act with minimal supervision.
• PCA experience preferred; PCA certificate or Nurse Aide education required for role.
• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; completion of PCA or Nurse Aide training program.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care under licensed personnel supervision.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and documents accordingly.
• Assists with feeding and meals and documents appropriately.
• Assists with elimination needs and documentation.
• Responds to alarms and patient needs promptly.
• Collects and documents patient information including weights and vital signs.
• Provides restorative care per care plan and documents outcomes.
• Keeps patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
• Follows infection control policies and OSHA standards.
• Operates equipment safely and reports faults.
• Assists in discharge process and patient transport as needed.
• Assists with orientation and training of others; performs other duties as assigned.
