Job summary

Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, TX is seeking a Nurse Aide to support patient care across nursing areas under licensed staff, assist with ADLs and feeding, and help with transport, discharge, and postmortem care as needed.

The role requires critical thinking, the ability to work under pressure, PCA experience preferred, and completion of PCA or Nurse Aide programs; licensure in PCA is expected. Schedule is PRN, 12-hour shifts, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• PCA experience preferred.
• Education: High school diploma; PCA training program with Certificate or Nurse Aide program.
• Licenses: PCA certificate from PCA training or Nurse Aide program completion.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care throughout nursing areas under licensed personnel.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and documents accordingly.
• Assists patient with feeding and/or meals as assigned and documents accordingly.
• Assists patient with elimination needs as appropriate and documents accordingly.
• Answers alarm pendants and responds to residents'/patients' needs promptly.
• Collects and documents patient information and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Provides restorative care per care plan and documents accordingly.
• Keeps patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly; changes linens.
• Demonstrates infection control practices and adheres to OSHA standards.
• Operates equipment safely and reports faulty equipment.
• Assists in discharge processes including transport and personal belongings.
• Provides safe transport of patients and escorts them in/out.
• Assists with postmortem care and orientation of others.
