Job summary

New River Community College in Pulaski, VA is seeking a Nursing Admissions Specialist to guide applicants through the nursing program process and support admissions staff with applicant selection.

You will coordinate withdrawal policies, liaise with college divisions for dual enrollment, and manage records reporting while providing front-line customer service using the PeopleSoft SIS system and the college admissions portal.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with the application process for the nursing programs and provide administrative support for nursing faculty during the applicant selection process.
• Coordinate all activities involved with supporting the instructor-initiated withdrawal policy.
• Serve as admissions liaison with college divisions regarding high school dual enrollment.
• Manage the required records reporting process to outside agencies.
• Provide customer/technical support by assisting students with the People Soft SIS and the admissions application.
• Update information for the admissions and records website, review admissions applications daily, send acceptance letters, welcome packets, and complete student deferment forms.
• Ensure FERPA compliance.
• Review and verify residency documentation for in-state tuition eligibility.
• Process student program changes, updates to student records, course registrations, withdrawals, and enrollment verification requests.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor.
