  • Nights 6:45 pm – 7:15 am
  • Full time, Three - 12 hours shifts per week

The Nursing Supervisor in the Patient Care Coordinators office (PCC) facilitates timely and safe patient flow throughout the hospital, provides management and operational oversight, responds to emergency codes, and ensures the provision of safe, quality patient care. The supervisor ensures each unit is staffed appropriately each shift and delegates support staff to units in need.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Serves as a clinical resource agent for problem solving within a shift.
  2. Ensures safe, timely patient flow and coordinates transfers.
  3. Participates in clinical observation and patient assessment to determine care levels.
  4. Oversees staffing in coordination with leadership and staffing offices.
  5. Maintains a visible leadership presence throughout the facility.
  6. Acts as first responder for emergency codes and alerts.
  7. Completes documentation for census, events, and outcomes using hospital databases and EHR.
  8. Serves as a resource on policies, procedures, legal, risk, and regulatory standards.
  9. Responds to concerns from team members, patients, families, and providers, with appropriate follow-up.
  10. Provides support, education, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  11. Assists with arrangements related to patient death, including autopsies and organ donation.
  12. Handles patient concerns regarding ADA, language, and cultural issues.
  13. Manages HR functions such as interviewing, onboarding, evaluating, and issuing corrective actions.
  14. Provides crisis management support and coordinates follow-up with the AOC.
  15. Serves as Incident Commander for HICS events until the hospital administrator arrives.
Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current RN license in Florida.
  • National certification in a specialty area within 2 years.
  • Current BLS; ACLS, PALS, NALS, or TNCC as required by specialty.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience in an acute care setting.
