Job summary

North Hennepin Community College is seeking potential temporary part‑time and adjunct Nursing instructors. The role involves teaching lecture, lab, and clinical courses to diverse students to prepare for the ASN and NCLEX‑RN licensure.

Responsibilities include developing materials, assessing performance, maintaining labs, and collaborating within the Nursing Program. A Minnesota RN license and a nursing degree are required; multiple years of teaching and diversity experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in nursing.
• Four full‑time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse.
• Current Minnesota RN license.
• Recency: one year of work experience within the last five years, waived with two years of post‑secondary teaching in last five years.
• Preferred: Master’s, DNP, or Ph.D. in Nursing.
• Experience teaching college‑level nursing (theory, lab, clinical).
• Experience serving diverse and historically under‑served populations.
• Evidence of DEI professional development.
• Experience with learner outcomes assessment and evaluation.
• Knowledge of online education and LMS (D2L Brightspace).
• Collaborative team player dedicated to student success.

Responsibilities

• Teach lecture, lab, or clinical courses to a diverse student population using active learning strategies.
• Develop and/or edit instructional materials.
• Assess student performance by multiple methods.
• Organise/maintain instructional labs and equipment.
• Utilise campus technology to maintain professional skills and connect with faculty, staff & students.
• Collaborate with colleagues and students to promote success in the Nursing Program.
• Participate in department meetings.
