Job summary

First Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston is seeking a part‑time Nursery Assistant to care for infants and children during Sunday services, a monthly Saturday night, and occasional weekdays.

You will work with Nursery Staff and Volunteers to provide a safe, welcoming environment, complete registration forms for new families, and keep in touch with the Nursery Coordinator and Director of Religious Exploration.

Qualifications

• CPR for infants and children preferred.
• English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Previous experience with child care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for infants, toddlers, and children with Nursery Staff and Nursery Volunteers on Sunday mornings, one Saturday night a month, and occasional weekdays as needed throughout the year.
• Maintain positive, safe, welcoming environment for children and parents and work with parents to provide the best care for the children.
• Ask new families to complete a Registration form.
• Maintain communication with Nursery Coordinator and/or Director of Religious Exploration.
• Fill out Supply Request Form when inventory is low.
