Position Overview

Prepare soil and growth media, cultivate, and participate in horticultural activities under supervision on acreage, in nursery, or in an environmentally controlled structure such as a greenhouse or shed by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

  • Grow your green career with us!
  • Enhance the appearance and value of properties through the cultivation of shrubs and trees.
  • Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, and water plants, shrubs, and trees.
  • Perform proper pruning to prevent girdling roots and promote a central leader on trees.
  • Transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs.
  • Prepare trees for pickup through the process of balling and burlapping.
  • Load and unload materials, containerized shrubs, plants, and trees.
  • Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems.
  • Drive, use, maintain and properly operate landscape equipment.
Qualifications

  • Love of the outdoors
  • Ability to complete the Davey landscape career development books
  • Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course
