Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Medical Unit. The role leads nursing operations, staffing, and patient care delivery within a Magnet-designated hospital.

The Nurse Leader ensures compliance with standards, directs performance improvement, and mentors staff to uphold MercyOne's mission and patient-centered care. This is a day-shift, full-time position based in Dubuque, IA.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and bachelor’s degree is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license and at least two (2) years of relevant clinical nursing experience is required.
• Relevant supervisory experience is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within three (3) months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter for both Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training is required within six (6) months of hire.
• Specialty practice certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and accountability for staff, resources and patient care outcomes.
• Directs department operations and ensures regulatory compliance and quality standards.
• Leads hiring, training, performance management and staff development.
• Collaborates with Nursing Operations Managers to align plans with clinical objectives and patient care needs.
• Fosters a culture of safety, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
