Job summary

The Nurse Trainer position at Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities in Savannah, GA, is a full-time role (40 hours/week), 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Nurse Trainer will ensure staff training stays on schedule and coordinate training sessions for DBHDD.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s degree and Georgia License or Nurse Compact Licensure.
• Three years of experience in providing educational training or instructional services to hospital staff.
• Basic computer skills- Microsoft Office Suite with particular emphasis in creating Power Point presentations.
• Ability to become Certified Safety Care Instructor without limitations.
• Physical ability to bend, lift, twist and stand for increased amounts of time.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills- with both small and large audiences.
• Able to travel for training purposes.
• Maintain records and computerized data bases for training purposes.

Responsibilities

• Develops conferences, seminars, presentations and speeches for community and civic organizations and the general public.
• Identify training needs and provide guidance and training to customers or less experienced staff.
• Produce videos, pictures, and photographs for training, marketing, and presentations.
• Schedule training, maintain records, and set up training and audio-visual equipment.
• Serve as a resource in outreach communication.
• May serve as a lead worker.
• May train subordinate staff in day-to-day operations.
• Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
