The Nurse Technician, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), delivers high-quality, patient-centered, and family-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to nursing functions and activities of daily living. The Nurse Technician assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the Nurse Technician skills/training and the needs of the assigned department/unit. The Nurse Technician consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe environment of care. The Nurse Technician is currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing and can perform basic care procedures once competency is achieved.

Required Skills
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
  • Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Nurse Technician.
Required Experience

License/Registration/Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
Education and Training
  • First year of a two-year nursing program (including Medical/Surgical rotation) and currently enrolled in a nursing program, or
  • Completion of the 5th semester of a four-year nursing program and currently enrolled in a nursing program.
