Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Nursing Technician to assist the Registered Nurse by observing and documenting patient conditions and supporting patient care under supervision.

The role focuses on daily living tasks, mobility support, clinical procedures such as monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKGs, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. CPR/BLS certification and NC Nurse Aide certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• State of North Carolina Nurse Aide Certification and DHHR listing required.
• BLS CPR certification (American Red Cross or AHA) required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living tasks and progressive mobility to support recovery and plan of care.
• Assess nutrition, hydration, and elimination to anticipate patient needs.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as per plan of care.
• Support clinical procedures: monitor blood glucose, record vital signs, obtain EKGs, apply restraints, attend to elimination.
• Maintain unit inventories and a clean, safe environment.
• Verify fall-risk patients have arm bands, socks, and signage for safety.
• Document clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use in patient history.
• Respond to RN delegation and share patient observations to promote collaboration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
