Overview:

Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of patients to achieve their highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team, recognizing the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks essential to patient care.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D., enrolled in an approved or accredited nursing program. Must provide transcripts showing completion of Fundamentals of Nursing and a competency skills list from their institution. Must remain in good standing with their nursing program. This role is for nursing students only; if a student leaves their program, they are ineligible to continue as a nurse tech.
  • Certifications: BLS required within one month of hire.
  • Other: Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly; stand and walk for prolonged periods; and perform tasks involving gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
  • Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic, or prior patient care experience. Preferred certifications include CNA, CPCT, EMT, or AUA.
