Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Nursing Technician to support patient care in the Emergency Center at St Joseph, MI. Under the supervision of an RN or Provider, you will perform basic nursing tasks, observe patients, and communicate findings to the health team.

You will help develop an individualized plan of care, document care accurately, and ensure patient safety while maintaining privacy and ethical standards. The role includes night shifts and part-time hours in a demanding hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 90 days.
• BLS certification through American Red Cross (ARC) is required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families, in coordinate with the RN or Provider.
• Provides direct patient care under RN/Provider direction and documents care accurately and timely.
• Articulates the nursing technician role to patients and health team members; supports safe, quality care.
• Cleans patient environment and reports equipment malfunctions; ensures adherence to policies and procedures.

Job Summary

As a Nursing Technician with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider, you'll be performing basic nursing skills, observing patients, and communicating those observations to the other members of the team. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Essential Functions

Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

Provides direct patient care under the direction of the RN or Provider, consistent with clinical policies and procedures, and department standard work. Provides input in the development of an individualized plan of care. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

Articulates the nursing technician role to the patient, family and health team members. Provides support to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.

Cleans patient's environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.

Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
