Job summary

St. Mary Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide essential support to nursing staff, assist with daily living activities, and maintain a safe, clean patient environment.

Responsibilities include hygiene, mobility support, documenting vital signs, assisting with admissions/transfers/discharges, and responding to patient needs in a fast-paced setting. CPR/BCLS certification and six months of care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.

Essential Functions

Perform basic patient care tasks including hygiene, grooming, and mobility support. Provide general nursing care such as patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive equipment. Assist with toileting using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation. Take and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure, as well as intake and output measurements. Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge, including handling personal belongings. Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment. Respond promptly to patient call lights, telephone, and paging systems. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Information

Effective communication and teamwork skills required. Ability to prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced care setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
