Job summary

FMOL Health in Baton Rouge seeks a Student Nurse Tech to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with ADLs, perform vital signs, help with meals and mobility, and support discharge planning and transport as needed.

Responsibilities focus on safety, cleanliness, and collaboration with the nursing team to ensure quality care. Enrollment in an accredited RN program in junior or senior year and BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Student nurse in good standing enrolled in a nursing program.
• Currently in the junior or senior year with Med/Surg rotation completed.
• Strong communication and medical terminology skills.
• BLS certification or active CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and ADLs under RN supervision.
• Measure, record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Deliver meds to nurses and place meds securely as directed by the nurse.
• Maintain clean patient rooms and nursing stations; support transport and mobility.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures under supervision.
• Adhere to hospital policies and participate in quality improvement efforts.
