Job Summary

Acts as a team member in delivering quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills according to department guidelines and communicates observations to the healthcare team.

Essential Functions

1. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as directed by the RN or Provider. Ensures accurate and timely documentation.
2. Provides direct patient care under the guidance of the RN or Provider, adhering to clinical policies, procedures, and department standards. Contributes to developing individualized care plans. Ensures proper documentation.
3. Explains the role of the nursing technician to patients, families, and health team members. Supports safe, quality, and cost-effective patient care.
4. Maintains cleanliness of the patient's environment, work area, and equipment; reports malfunctions to relevant personnel.
5. Demonstrates high ethical standards, advocating for privacy, confidentiality, and data security.
