Job summary

California Department of Public Health is seeking a Nurse Surveyor to inspect and evaluate health facilities for licensing and certification compliance. The position is a 12-month limited term, full-time with a hybrid work arrangement based in Riverside County.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by HFEN classification.
• Extensive travel to health facilities for inspections is required.
• Experience with licensing and certification programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, investigations, surveys, and evaluations of health facilities for conformity with licensing and certification requirements.
• Advise healthcare facility administrators and community agencies regarding State health facilities inspection, licensing, and certification programs.
• Enforce state and federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to patient care areas such as nursing, physician, restorative, pharmacy, social, dental services.
