Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix seeks a Surgery Nurse to prepare patients for procedures and provide expert nursing care in the operating room, supporting patient safety and comfort.

You will collaborate with surgeons and the perioperative team, develop care plans, ensure OR readiness, and uphold our humankindness culture while leveraging the latest clinical practices.

Qualifications

• One year medical/surgical, ICU or telemetry experience.
• Registered Nurse: AZ.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• BSN preferred.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgery Nurseyou will prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide exceptional nursing care in the operating room during their most vulnerable moments.

Every day you will provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care, organizing and prioritizing patient care activities while balancing patient needs and comfort. You will serve as a patient advocate, utilizing holistic care practices and adapting to swift changes in patient conditions. You'll also engage with the latest technology, continuously enhancing your skills, and actively participate in process and quality improvement initiatives within a fast-paced environment. Self-scheduling and in-house anesthesia support your focus on patient healing and outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate exceptional communication, ethical accountability, critical thinking, and the ability to seek multidisciplinary collaboration. Your capacity to manage workload, apply negotiation and conflict management strategies, and consistently support the organization's strategic plan and performance improvement will be key to thriving in this dynamic Perioperativenursing environment, where innovation and patient safety are paramount.
