Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Emergency Services Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced ED and mobile stroke program.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • One year of nursing experience in an acute care facility.
  • Arizona license or compact state RN.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, effective, evidence-based nursing care for adult patients in the mobile stroke program and acute care settings.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities to balance clinical needs with patient comfort.
  • Demonstrates ethical practice and assumes accountability for decisions, actions, and outcomes.
  • Serves as a patient advocate, delivering holistic, culturally sensitive care aligned with values, beliefs, and customs.
  • Recognizes, assesses, and responds promptly to changes in patient condition within established timeframes.
  • Communicates effectively (e.g., SBAR), performs thorough handoffs, collaborates across disciplines, and follows the chain of command.

  • Registered Nurse: AZ license or compact state
