Job summary

University Health Careers is seeking a dialysis nurse to perform the nursing process in a safe, therapeutic manner within a designated clinic setting. You will provide direct patient care for ESRD patients on dialysis and monitor their status, ensuring high standards of care and patient safety.

BSN is highly preferred; current RN licensure in Texas is required, along with American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Healthcare Provider cards (ACLS encouraged).

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Current TX RN licensure required.
• ACLS recommended; CPR/Healthcare Provider cards required.
• National dialysis certification encouraged.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs the nursing process in a safe therapeutic manner in a designated clinic setting. Provides direct patient care (dialysis) and monitoring of renal dialysis patients. Oversees direct patient care of the ESRD patient on dialysis. Supports and adheres to University Health System and department specific policies and standards. Mentors and serves as a clinical role model for all staff. Receives mentoring from Nurse Staff I, Nurse Staff II, Nurse Staff III, and the Director of Dialysis Services.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

BSN is highly preferred. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Current RN licensure from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the state of Texas is required. National certification in Dialysis is encouraged.
